Fingerprint Sensor Module Replacement


Getting ready

It is advised to wear suitable protective personal equipment (PPE) and be in safe working environment.

Before starting this maintenance process, it is recommended for user to disconnect the battery/power supply to prevent the risk of electrical issue or hazard.


Tools required

Parts required

You will need to prepare the listed parts for this maintenance procedure.

Replacement Fingerprint Sensor Module x 1 unit

Steps to follow

Step 1 Removing Crank

For this step, kindly refer the crank removal procedure by clicking the link below.

Step 2 Removing Kickstand

Step 4 Removing Gearbox Module Cover

For this step, kindly refer the Gearbox Module Cover removal procedure by clicking the link below.

Step 5 Removing Hand Grip & Brake Lever

5.1

On the left-side of the handlebar, gently remove the hand grip.

5.2

Remove the Top Cap along with the Phone Mount.
 
5.3

Then, remove the brake lever from the handlebar.

Step 6 Removing Fingerprint Module

6.1

Using an Allen Key, loosen up the screws on the back side of the Fingerprint Module.
6.2

Using hand, carefully pull out the Fingerprint Module from the handlebar.

Step 7 Disconnecting old Fingerprint Sensor Module

7.1

Inside the Gearbox Module, carefully disconnect the Fingerprint Sensor Module cable.
7.2

Take the disconnected Fingerprint Sensor Module and set it aside.

Step 8 Connecting new Fingerprint Sensor Module

8.1

Take the new Fingerprint Sensor Module and align the cable into the cable clips on the bike’s frame.
8.2

Inside the Gearbox Module, carefully connect the new Fingerprint Sensor Module cable to its correct connector.

Step 9 Installing new Fingerprint Sensor Module

9.1
Using hand, carefully slot in the Fingerprint Module into the left-side of handlebar.
9.2
Make sure that the Fingerprint Module are slotted until it reaches the end.

Check the orientation and ensure that the orientation is facing towards the correct direction.
9.3
Using an Allen Key, insert & tighten up all screws on the back side of Fingerprint Module.

Step 10 Re-installing Brake Lever & Hand Grip

10.1
Take the Rear Brake Lever, and slot it into the left-side of the handlebar.
10.2
Make sure that the brake lever is slotted until it reaches the end.

Check the orientation and ensure that the orientation is facing towards the correct direction.
10.3
Using an Allen Key, tighten up the screw on the left Brake Lever.
10.4
Then, take the Hand Grip & insert it into the left-side of the handlebar.
Make sure that the hand grip is fully flushed until the end of it.
