Front Wheel Replacement


Getting ready

It is advised to wear suitable protective personal equipment (PPE) and be in safe working environment.

  • Before starting this maintenance process, disconnect the battery/power supply to prevent the risk of electrical issue or hazard.

Tools required

Torque Driver set
10mm Spanner
Loctite 2701
or any equivalent thread-locker fluid

Parts required

You will need to prepare the listed parts for this maintenance procedure.

Replacement Front Wheel
x 1 unit

Steps to follow

Step 1 Removing old brake pads

1.1

Using 10mm spanner, loosen up the nut on the old brake pad.

Once the nut is loosened up, remove the nut. 
1.2

Remove the brake pad by carefully sliding it out through the hole on brake caliper.
1.3

Repeat all the previous steps for the other brake pad on the other side 

(if required to be changed)
 

Step 2 Removing Fork Cover (Left)

2.1

Using torque driver, remove below listed screws:

– M3 Flat head screw (1 unit)
– M3 Socket head screw (2 units)
2.2

Ensure that all 3 units of screws has been removed from the Fork Cover.
2.3

Carefully remove the Fork Cover by sliding it out in between the brake caliper.
 

Step 3 Removing Fork Cover (Right)

3.1

Using torque driver, remove below listed screws:

– M3 Socket head screw (2 units)
3.2

Ensure that 3 units of screw has been removed from the Fork Cover.
3.3

Carefully remove the Fork Cover by sliding it out in between the brake caliper.
 

Step 4 Disconnecting Front LED Light cables

4.1

Carefully disconnect the Front LED Light cables.

The cables are mounted on the left side of the Fork.
4.2

Make sure that all cables are disconnected before proceeding to the next step.

Step 5 Removing Front Wheel

5.1

Using torque driver, unscrew all the screw
on the Front Wheel.
5.2

Ensure that all screws has been removed.
5.3

Carefully remove the Front Wheel and set it aside.

Step 6 Installing new Front Wheel

6.1

Take the replacement unit of Front Wheel & align the wheel correctly to its screw holes.
6.2

Ensure that all screw holes are aligned
6.3

Using torque driver, insert and tighten all the screws until the wheel is fully secured.

Apply Loctite on each screw before inserting into screw hole.

Step 7 Re-connecting Front LED Light cables

7.1

Carefully re-connect the Front LED Light cables.

Make sure that all cables are disconnected before proceeding to the next step.

Step 8 Re-installing the Fork Cover (Left)

8.1

Carefully install the left Fork Cover by sliding it in between the brake caliper.
8.2

Make sure the left Fork Cover is fully flushed and all screw holes are perfectly aligned.
8.3

Using torque driver, insert and firmly tighten all screws.

Make sure that the Fork Cover is fully secured
onto the wheel & fork.

Apply Loctite on each screw before inserting
into screw hole.

Step 9 Re-installing the Fork Cover (Right)

9.1

Carefully install the right Fork Cover by sliding it in between the brake caliper.
9.2

Make sure the right Fork Cover is fully flushed and all screw holes are perfectly aligned.
9.3

Using torque driver, insert and firmly tighten all screws.

Make sure that the Fork Cover is fully secured
onto the wheel & fork.

Apply Loctite on each screw before inserting
into screw hole.

Step 10 Re-installing brake pads

10.1

Collect the brake pad, and correctly align it into the brake caliper.

Slide the brake pad into the brake caliper and ensure the brake pad is in place.
10.2

Once the brake pad is correctly aligned, secure the brake pad by inserting the nut. 
10.3

Repeat all the previous steps for the other brake pad on the other side.
 

Step 11 Testing new Front Wheel

11.1

Spin the newly installed front wheel.

Ensure that the wheel is spinning freely without
any wobbling issue or abnormal noise.

For better inspection result, bring the bike
for a test if required.
